Here’s an amusing shot of Graham Hill giving his BRM team-mate Tony Brooks a lift back to the pits during practice for the 1961 Belgian GP. I guess such behaviour would see them both fine thousands of Swiss Francs today. In fact Tony had previously won every race he’d ever started at Spa, but he hated these new 1½-litre Formula 1 cars and was certainly out of luck this time. He retired from racing at the end of that year.  But, believe me, Tony’s innate talent was formidable…
