Photographer Geoffrey Goddard enjoyed the challenge of getting close to the action - here at the 12.5km ‘yumping’ point on the Nurburgring Nordschleife he could do that by kneeling on the grass verge near the apex.  This is Graham Hill in the slimline ‘Tasman’ BRM P261 - slamming past on his way to finishing fourth - his 2.1-litre V8 unable to match the three 3-litre cars ahead of him.
